Just recently, I noticed a JavaScript error in the gallery that I was developing that uses ZenPhoto as the backend and uses FlowPlayer as a plugin so that it will handle the flv files. The reason for the error is because the javascript file included in the default download of ZenPhoto is not the recent version of the plugin. I checked the releases of the jQuery Flash Embed plugin, and found out that in the recent version (0.3.1) that it fixes the following bugs:

• Fixed a bug on Safari when no flashvars was given.
• Fixed a bug on IE where an id is required for object tag in order to access it’s public API.
• Lazy Loading was totally removed from this release - it is no longer marked as deprecated.

What I did is that I replaced the contents of the javascript file with this code. I then tested the site in IE6 and it works perfectly.

I’ve read this article, and it has caught my attention simply because Media Growl is a startup that is yet to bloom and because of the current economic situation. Bob Warfield (the author of the article that I linked) have some tips and I like it to share to you as well:

I’m really not sure about the raising money part since most VCs would probably think that it’s not the best time to invest in a new company. However, if you really have a brilliant product in mind, most likely, they’ll go for it.

There are certain parts of a typical website such as contact forms, and some that collect visitor information for tracking statistics such as Google Analytics. With this, every website should have a page stating its privacy policy so that the user is aware what kind of data you collect each time they visit and each time they submit something in a form.

Including a privacy policy would protect both the publisher and the user. It would protect the publisher if he/she abides by the privacy policy stated. And oh, if you use Google Adsense in your websites, forums, or blogs, remember to include a Privacy Policy. It is recommended to use a nofollow link for your Privacy Policy page.

Before upgrading to Wordpress 2.7, always check for plugin compatibility and always backup your database. Anyway, most of the listed plugins that weren’t compatible with Wordpress 2.7 have already updated codes. But it is still safe to check before upgrading. And if the plugin is not compatible, better deactivate it first before running the upgrade. Cheers!
